Steve Mathews: A Firefighter, Husband, Father Fighting His Own Battle with Chomdrosarcoma

Chondrosarcoma Awareness Day is Sunday, February 6. As we approach this date we are posting stories about Chondrosarcoma Warriors defying the odds and winning their battle against this rare bone and soft tissue disease. We are also honoring those who lost their battle from this terrible cancer. Steve Mathew, a father, husband and Gwinnett County Firefighter in Blue Ridge, Georgia unfortunately lost his battle last year. His wife Beth shared his journey and she wants us to remember his family life, his service to the community and his struggle with Chondrosarcoma. Please read and share his inspirational story below.

For Chondrosarcoma Awareness Day we ask that you get the word out to your family, friends and co-works to join us in the effort to support increased research and clinical trials; by submitting your name and email to our petition: www.csfshayna.org/support-cs-research/

On February 6, please remember Steve, Stanley, Shayna and all other who lost their battle. Wear a Yellow Ribbon, take pictures wearing the ribbon and post those pictures on social media using #cswecare
