There is still time to register for this event. The Chondrosarcoma Foundation has had many requests from patients and family members to host support groups. They expressed a desire to have a forum to share their concerns to those who are also suffering from the debilitating effects of chondrosarcoma both physically and mentally.

Data from our Chondrosarcoma Patient Registry indicates that the quality of life regarding mental health for CS Warriors is less than what exists for other cancer patients. We want to address this unmet need and do something about it.

The Chondrosarcoma Foundation is going to introduce skills to manage stress, anxiety and depression by hosting our sixth International Forum / Virtual Dialogue featuring the following prominent experts to address the mental health of Chondrosarcoma patients entitled: Improving Stress, Anxiety, Depression and the Quality of Life. This event is scheduled on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 7:00pm – 9:00pm (EST/New York time) VIA Zoom.

We are honored to include professional counselors who are also cancer survivors:

Elsie Huefner, Ph.D. is a doctoral-level licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. Elsie is also a Chondrosarcoma Survivor, diagnosed with Grade 3 Dedifferentiated CS. She will address how patients can manage their stress, anxiety and depression and improve overall quality of life.

Julia Parent, M.S. is a breast cancer survivor with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She will address the mental health needs of family members and caregivers.

If there is enough interest, we plan to establish and sustain two on-going support groups, one for Chondrosarcoma patients and the other for Family members and caregivers.

Join us for this very informative forum.
