CTOS & SPAEN Roundtable Paper “Global Patient Involvement in Sarcoma Care“

Dear SPAEN Members AND FRIENDS!

We are happy and proud to announce that CTOS & SPAEN Roundtable Paper “Global Patient Involvement in Sarcoma Care“ has been published in Cancers!

Patients and patient advocates from Sarcoma Patients EuroNet (SPAEN) and medical experts from the scientifically driven Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS) came together on 9 November 2021 at an official ancillary event to the CTOS 2021 Annual Meeting. At the event, representatives of CTOS and SPAEN jointly discussed gaps and challenges in global sarcoma care and management. This resulting position paper highlights the main findings and possible future steps.

This roundtable meeting and resulting position paper is a remarkable first step of a truly global initiative of Sarcoma Experts and Patient Advocates with the aim to address and overcome challenges in sarcoma care together: We brought experience and expertise from all stakeholders, from many parts of the world, from different areas of expertise together and hope to continue to do so! With hard work, enthusiasm, dedication, collaboration and time, we aim to ultimately improve sarcoma management for patients around the globe.

A big thank you to all participants and contributors to this initiative!

We are looking forward to future collaborative projects, ideas or initiatives with Sarcoma Patient Advocates and Sarcoma Experts around the globe!

All the best,

The SPAEN Board of Directors & Team
