CS Tumor Board

The Chondrosarcoma Foundation, in collaboration with the Sarcoma Oncology Research Center in Santa Monica, CA, is proud to announce the creation of the Chondrosarcoma Tumor Board, a specialized, multidisciplinary group of medical professionals who treat chondrosarcoma. The tumor board will review cases submitted by physicians/oncologists globally and offer specialized treatment recommendations for chondrosarcoma.
What is the Chondrosarcoma Tumor Board
The Chondrosarcoma Tumor Board is a panel of medical professionals from multiple disciplines including sarcoma specialists / oncologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists and orthopedic surgeons. All have experience in treating chondrosarcoma, an ultra-rare, complex bone cancer.
The Tumor board will not replace local tumor boards, it will however address aggressive sub-types of chondrosarcoma and cases where treatment options have been exhausted. It will also help patients living in parts of the world where treatment for chondrosarcoma is non-existent. The board will meet virtually as needed to review and discuss treatment options for cases submitted by physicians / oncologists from around the world.
We are hopeful that the existence of the tumor board will enhance treatment approaches for chondrosarcoma patients worldwide and serve as a valuable educational resource for medical professionals to advance the care of this ultra-rare bone cancer.
Who Can Benefit from This Resource?
This service is particularly valuable for:
✔ Physicians and Oncologists with limited or no experience treating chondrosarcoma.
✔ Physicians and Oncologists who have exhausted existing treatment options and are looking for new and/or innovative interventions.
✔ Patient’s with aggressive sub-types and efforts to stop disease progression are not working.
✔ Patients who do not have access to a specialized sarcoma treatment center.
By bringing together experts to share insights and experiences, the Chondrosarcoma Tumor Board aims to improve patient care and advance knowledge about effective treatment strategies.
