The Johns Hopkins Department of Pathology is proud to announce the launch of a new web site, “Clinical Pathology Unknowns” (https://apps.pathology.jhu.edu/cp/), an interactive clinical pathology educational resource. This web-based educational tool was developed for pathology trainees, non-pathology trainees, laboratory professionals, faculty, practicing pathologists, and anyone who would like to deepen their knowledge of laboratory medicine! Similar to the format of the “Johns Hopkins Surgical Pathology Unknown Conference,” challenging clinical pathology cases are presented in a format that includes a clinical vignette (with associated images or data, if applicable), followed by a multiple-choice question, answer, and brief discussion. Subspecialties represented include clinical chemistry, hematology/coagulation, hematopathology, microbiology, and transfusion medicine. Additional subspecialties are planned for future incorporation, including immunology and molecular pathology. Many thanks to our outstanding Johns Hopkins residents and fellows, and the CP unknowns team (Marissa White MD, Eric Gehrie MD, Karen Carroll MD, Aaron Tobian MD PhD, Alice Meiss, MD, Paula Mister MS MT SM (ASCP), Lorraine Blagg MA MLS(ASCP)SBB, Yembur Ahmad MD, Harsimar Kaur MBBS, Curtis Gravenmier MD, Laura Wake MD, and Alisha Ware MD) for their efforts in building this tool! Please email mwhite44 with feedback, questions, or suggestions. We hope you find the cases educational and enjoyable! |
