Happy New Year! Another new set of 8 teaching cases has been uploaded to the Johns Hopkins Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology Teaching Website (https://apps.pathology.jhu.edu/bone/). Please note that previous difficulties accessing the images which some users have reported has been addressed. The bone pathology teaching web site is a novel educational platform intended for residents, fellows and attending pathologists, particularly those who have limited exposure to orthopedic/soft tissue pathology. As with the initial set, cases are presented in the format of radiologic images paired with scanned microscopic slides (rather than just static images) for the case. The scanned microscopic slides allow the user to view the case as you would a slide at your own microscope. The user can move around the slide, and zoom in and out. This is intended to closely emulate real life orthopedic pathology. The answers to each case and discussion are provided not as text but instead as brief 5-10 minute educational videos by Dr. John Gross, Assistant Professor of Pathology and Director of Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology at Johns Hopkins University. New cases will be uploaded every 8 weeks. As this is a novel undertaking, we would appreciate your feedback! Please email Dr. John Gross jgross28 with feedback, questions or suggestions. Enjoy! |
